Today I have for you the Xen from Nish Patel in the robusto (5×50) size.
I am going to let the video do the talking this week because I just deleted my whole write up and with doctor appointment times coming up fast I do not have the time to retype everything right now.
Basically this cigar is a surprise if you think all connecticut shade are mild to medium sticks. I even would say this stick hit the full range for me towards the end.
A nice combination of wood, sweet spice, coffee and even a bit of hay rounded out this stick.
Would I buy it again? Yes. Even with more strength the cigar really is a nice smoke. I would like to try the toro size but the local shop only had the short robusto and robusto.
I am also not a fan of the box press on cigars but it wasn’t too awkward to hold and smoke for me so it did not take away from the experience.

Good review Mike. Sounds like a nice change of pace for the morning rotation. Lucky you – it’s a rare occasion (actually a non-occasion) when my locals will beat online pricing.
I had high hopes for this cigar when I heard about it. When it was finally released I grabbed a robusto, but it didn’t impress me the way it did you.
Good review. I’ll have to pick up another one and see if I have a different experience.
It was unique for me mainly because of the power and taste involved. I think it was a very nice start for Nish.
Like i said, I would love to try the toro also but have not found them local as of yet. Let me know what you think of it if you try it again.
Good review Mike, coffee and cardboard? Will give give one a try, by the way that’s a big recliner.
Hippie nice review and doesn’t seem like one I’ll be searching for soon but will still give it a try. Love the intro music and the plug lol.
I thought this cigar was ok. It had nods of the JAVA LATTE series that both Drew/Rocky distributed only without the added infusion. I definitely did get the cardboard taste but that stayed with me not transitioning at all. The spice tasted of a slight white pepper and overall thought it was a mild/medium not hanging in the medium category very long. This was at 5pm – unremarkable is the best word. There’s better at this price point.
Mike, after watching this review i went to Cigar.com and brought two of the toros and they were fantastic! I got a creamy sweet spice taste. I’ve since purchased more you should stop at the site and pick up a few since you love the toro size! p.s. great review!
I pick them up locally quite a bit but ordering online, I like the pricing at cigarplace.biz (one of our sponsors too) 😉
Glad you enjoy and thanx for watching.
