The monthly Ed and Tom show has rolled into town once again. This time the guys from St. Petersburg, Florida take a look at the soon to be released Alec Bradley Select Cabinet Reserve.

Well I will definitely be looking for these! Awesome review! I cant wait to taste all of the flavor changes and to see if my palette can actually pick them up 🙂
Thanks all for the comments! I’ve been a bit of an Alec Bradley whore these days, mainly with the Tempus and Maxx. I’ll be revisiting this cigar again as well.
Jerry, I’m admitting in public that I ripped off your seal of approval idea! I’ve been stealing Walt’s slide shows forever, and it was time I started taking some of your ideas 😉 Now I just need to do a tower of burn to even things out.
I’ve been reading some negative remarks recently about Alec Bradley. It goes to show that you have to try and not take to heart critizisms or accolades.
So nice of you guys to provide me with something to watch while I enjoy my first Select Cabinet Reserve. Another great video review!
That’s gotta be the first time you’ve ever answered (heard?) the question “what smells so nice in here?”
Seriously though, I think you guys are right on. When it went out in the final third (due to my negligence), I almost didn’t relight it. Glad I did, was still great. Nub-worthy.
I look forward to actually being able to buy these.
Jose – Your the man. Thanks for the logos for my site too. Stay tuned for a cigar bomb!
Brian – I think they are officially out now. Definitely nub worthy. I haven’t been let down by Alec Bradley stuff yet, and am becoming quite the AB whore.
Thanks again everyone for the comments! Good times.
Picked one up today, and was underwhelmed. After removing the foot and main band I noticed that sections of the wrapper were removed with the banding, I’m not sure if it was poor humidification on tobacconist’s part or poor construction (excess glue on the banding) at the factory prior to boxing.
The cigar had a consistent finger give with a major soft spot in the middle of the second third. Pre-light draw was very mild with minor cinnamon notes which were consistent after lighting, with a touch of vanilla on the end. This cigar started out promising but went downhill after about 4-5 draws with the flavors initially present disintegrating into nothing at all, with the exception of a strong pepper component when exhaled through the nose.
The burn was uneven with an ash that didn’t make it to half an inch before it fell off on its own.
I am more than willing to try one again, as I think this particular cigar was improperly stored or shipped, and as a consequence was very dry. That being said the price point on this particular, I felt was way too high and would be more appropriate in the $4-6 range (I was charged just over $8).
I’ve smoked quite a few of these and have never has the problem you did Andrew.. What a bummer ’cause this is a really tasty stick. To each his own but I like these more than the tempus. A spot on review.
I was put off ALOT by your site’s remake review—preceeded by A COMMERCIAL EMBEDED WITH MORE AD MATERIAL, CRAPPY ABRASIVE MUSIC LEAD, FOLLOWED BY TWO GUYS THAT OBVIOUSLY WERE NOT WELL PREPARED AND COULDN’T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE CIGAR. Continuing with the pervasive branding for “fuji” and a review that went two times too long, you have lost my interest. Probably will not return.
Wow nice to be rude guy ! Don’t listen to that tool you guys are just fine ! I guess he never forgot anything in his life. I wish I lived in your area I would love to visit Ed’s shop it looks like a great place. I’ve been smoking a ton of AB’s lately I totally understand why you love them they are awesome ! Keep up the good work and tell Ed he’s the man !

Good stuff….I can’t help but notice one of you two needs a bit of a trim!!! 🙂
Smoked one of the AB SCR Robustos today and I have Ed & Tom to blame!

These are some very tasty smokes… I may need a box.
