A Note from Tom:
Ed and I are back once again for our monthly guest spot here on The Stogie Review. It’s hard to believe we’ve been here for two years!
If you watched our January video, I put Ed on the spot and asked what his top cigar was for 2009. My choice was the Alec Bradley Tempus. He came up with the cigar we are reviewing today, the Alec Bradley Prensado.
I can’t deny I’m a bit of an Alec Bradley whore. The Prensado is a really nice cigar. I would say it is as good as the Tempus, but of course just a lot different. Since Ed is the man, I figured we better review his top pick first. Stay tuned for our take on my pick sometime in the near future.
And yes, I felt this cigar warranted breaking out the Ed & Tom seal of approval AND stamp of approval.
Excellent review, the appearance of that cigar alone makes it look delicious. I’ve tried one a while back but I’m gonna have to get a few of those. Hillarious ending to the video review, lovin’ it!
Great review guys! I shall have to snag some of these when i can find them. It really sounds like a great flavor profile!
Mike
Another nice review, and another cigar I need to try!
Glad you enjoyed the review! Indeed, this and the Tempus are among my favorites. I can’t whore this stuff enough, and nope, AB doesn’t sponsor me (or us). It’s just my opinion that they make great stuff.
Nothing wrong with being an Alec Bradley whore, this coming from a Perdomo whore.
Great review as always guys. I too enjoy AB products Tom, although I wouldn’t consider myself a whore LOL. Look forward to your reviews all the time. However, we only ever see you two sitting behind what I think is the counter at Ed’s shop. How bout a tour of the inside and your outside smoking area? Also have noticed that you guys have switched lighters. Getting ready to look at your review of it.
Keep up the good work guys!!
Glad you enjoy the reviews. You are correct, since space it limited, we set up the camera/audio mixer behind the counter. I’ll throw something in a future review to give more perspective. After the death of my PB207, I figured I’d try a Xikar Axia. So far so good!
Absolutely agree with you review concerning flavors, construction, etc.
Definetly on my twice a month club @ $11.00
Tom,
Great review. I disagreed though. I thought this cigar was smooth but mild to me. I didn’t really get any bits of spice upfront and the second and final thirds were just too quiet for me. Good cigar but not great. My full review: http://wp.me/pSZbU-7C. Great review though, I soon hope to be reviewing cigars on video as well as you guys!!
You know, I think this is a pretty good cigar but to say it’s the best cigar of 2011 is beyond ludicrous.
I’ve been aging some of these for a while and have recently begun smoking them in earnest. Aging has transformed the pepper into leather, while still keeping the chocolate. So now the balance of leather, pepper, sweet chocolate is excellent. With some age, they are well worth it.
I allways have these in my humidor. These are my all time favorite. Smooth and tasty from start to finish
