Elogio has created the Crescent City Cigars Exclusivo for the second year in a row for Crescent City Cigars in New Orleans, LA. Armando Ortiz, the owner of Crescent City Cigars, sent a few of these to me for review and to get my opinion on them. We are both big fans of Elogio Cigars, especially their core lines, LSV and Habano. They have recently added an Edicion Limitada line which Armando is a big fan off as well. Because of that, he tweaked the blend of the CCC Exclusivo to add a leaf of the LSV EL blend which definitely changed the flavor profile from the previous year. The first CCC Exclusivo had the flavors of the Habano blend with with some kicked up spice. The addition of the LSV EL leaf really helped the blend as I’m not a huge fan of a lot of spice. The spice was still there, but wasn’t a strong note. I got flavors of oak, leather, earth, dried fruit and caramel. The caramel sweetness and the dried fruit became more dominate near the middle of the cigar, but as the cigar burned down, the leather note became more prominent. I really enjoyed this cigar’s flavor and I personally like it more than anything else Elogio has put out so far. I think Crescent City Cigar has something special here and something you shouldn’t miss out on.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been dabbling in cigars from my past. The most recent of which is the CAO America Monument – a 54 x 6.25 Belicoso that launched way back at the 2007 RTDA (or was it the IPCPR that year?) It’s hard to believe that this cigar was released so […]
