Diesel Cigars and Rabbit Hole Bourbon have teamed up again to collaborate on another cigar called the Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask. The Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask follows the very successful Diesel Whiskey Row which was a huge success in the retail market. Both cigars are part of the new cigar lines by Diesel that are for sell both online and in cigar stores, a departure from the online only distribution that Diesel has maintained for many years. The Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask was developed by Justin Andrews and blended by AJ Fernandez using a rare Brazilian Arapiraca leaf from the Alagoas region in central Brazil for the binder. The Arapiraca leaf was aged in Rabbit Hole’s Pedro Ximenez sherry casks by AJ Fernandez and then blended with Nicaraguan Habano filler all capped off with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.

Pre-Light
The Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask has a beautiful dark chocolate brown wrapper that is very smooth. The band looks really nice as well with an unusual diagonal slant with colors that look sharp against the dark brown wrapper. The draw is a perfect milkshake draw with notes of cedar, earth and leather.
First Half
The cigar starts off with a sweet and savory flavor profile. I get notes of cocoa, black cherry, peanuts, leather, and a hint of baking spice. The cigar is smoking wonderfully with great burn and the cigar is producing a lot of smoke. The cigar is full bodied with a long finish.
Last Half
The second half starts off with a bang like the first half. I get notes of cocoa, black cherry and leather, but the peanut notes is more subdued. I’m get a note of amaretto with a baking spice about the midway point as well. Near the end, I get a orange zest note that livens up the flavors. The leather note is the backbone of the cigar and really fills out the flavor profile and I also get a pepper note on the retrohale. Its still full bodied and full flavored.
Conclusion
I really like the Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Cask. It has great flavor with a full body that isn’t harsh in the least. It’s well rounded with savory, sweet notes that I really enjoy. I love the Diesel Whiskey Row, but I think I love this Sherry Cask version even more. The Sherry Cask has a more full flavor profile that is robust where the original Whiskey Row is a little more smoother and sweeter. I love both so it just depends on what type of flavor profile you are looking for. I will be picking up a box of these are soon as I can.
