I think they classify these types of movies as political satire right? The movie, which pokes fun at both sides of the issue, is based on a book, with the same title, by Christopher Buckley. Here is a brief little bit on the movie:
Nick Naylor, chief spokesman for Big Tobacco, makes his living defending the rights of smokers and cigarette makers in today’s neo-puritanical culture. Confronted by health zealots and an opportunistic senator, Nick goes on a PR offensive, spinning away the dangers of cigarettes, but he begins to think about how his work makes him look in the eyes of his young son Joey.

Beware…if you’re sick of seeing Katie Holmes, don’t watch the trailer or the movie.
Question: Do you think this movie is a recruiting tool to get more people smoking?
I think people are typically pretty stuborn. Most people arent going to be completely swayed by a movie. I think the movie might be a way of giving people that nudge they need to move on with thier pre-concieved notion.
