Short and sweet writeup for you today on this Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 “A”, since this is the only one I have ever had. I was gifted this by Mike whom had it for over 5 years in his humidor. Size on this cigar is 8.5 x 50. Yes, 8 and a half inches long!
Most noticeable thing is that the cigar flavors seem muted compared to the fresh Vintage 1990’s I have smoked. Halfway through and the cigar was still very mild with a mild flavor profile also.
A bit after the halfway point the flavors came out and the cigar picked up just a bit in body. This cigar was a full flavored treat in the second half. I had a tighter draw in the first half but that also opened up in the second half.
My smoke time was around three and a half hours but that could be due to age or maybe I was smoking slower than normal people do. Whichever it was, I really liked the nice long smoke time.
Would I buy some, oh my yes. I am waiting to get some coin in my pocket and I plan on snagging some.

Mike glad u enjoyed the smoke. Wish I had more info for you all I can say is it was aged well. Great review.
I’ve never had the “A” version, but I’ve had the 1990 and 1992. I have always liked the 1992 better and think that it has a lot more flavor to it than the 90′.
