This week I have the La Flor Dominicana 1994 which was made to celebrate the 20 years LFD has been around.
Starting off the La Flor Dominicana 1994 with a meaty smoke up front with a generous dollop of wood and a medium amount of spice. Has a bite to it but not so much of the power that gets associated with LFD normally. Has a little bit of a sour note but only on the aftertaste. There is not a bunch of power at all but there is a bit but we are still in the first third so we shall see. Wood taste is very cedary. Smoke is not as meaty and in reality has started getting a creamy note to it at about halfway. Staying pretty consistent with the flavors with a bready taste coming into play as the smoke gets creamier. Here at the end the bite has come back and taken the creaminess away. Medium cigar, from LFD!
Would I buy it again? Yes. I am not a big fan of the bite but that may ween away after a bit of humidor time. I am anticipating smoking another one of these next time I am at the shop.
