In this interview, Ben talks to Avo Brand Manager Scott Kolesaire about what’s new with Avo this year. Kolesaire shows off the brightly-packaged Avo Syncro Nicaragua Fogata, and runs through the details of the blend and vitolas, highlighting the new short torpedo format. The Fogata builds of last years Avo Syncro Nicaragua, which Ben reminds us was his cigar of the year for 2015. (It was my #2 for 2015 as well, and we didn’t even compare notes.)
From there Kolesaire takes us through the Classic Covers, showing both Volume 3 which was released in March and Volume 4 with the golden record which releases in October. The ingenious packaging is designed to look like a record player when closed, and when the cigars have been removed, it becomes an ashtray.
Classic Covers is followed up by the new sample packs. The Quartet sampler contains a Syncro Nicaragua, two Fogatas and a previously unreleased Mystery Note. There is also a larger Avo Sampler that includes limited edition Avo headphones, which will be released in October in time for the gift-buying season.
