At the La Gloria Cubana display we met up with Matt Davenport, and he introduced us to the new La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli Maduro. The Serie R Esteli Maduro has a blend based on the original Serie R Esteli, the difference being a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper instead of the original’s Nicaraguan Jalapa Sol. The new wrapper raised the price of the cigar, but only slightly. It will retail from $6.99 to $7.99 and in the same sizes as the original Esteli.

The Serie R Esteli is a brick and mortar exclusive, but there is a similar line called the Serie R Black Maduro that is only available online. They aren’t exactly the same thing, Davenport tells us that the Serie R Black Maduro is “a little bit smoother and sweeter.” The Serie R Black also has a 7 x 58 vitola not available in the Esteli line.
