IPCPR 2017: Veritas

As we were walking the aisles of the trade show trying to figure out where our next appointment was, Pizza Mike grabbed us and said we needed to have a chat with Chris Weber of Veritas Cigars. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time arguing with a guy dressed head-to-toe in pizza-themed attire. Before you judge me, answer this question: Does your smoking jacket have a pizza slice pocket?

Chris shows us the redesigned and repackaged The 412, with a Pennsylvania Broadleaf that he says is every bit as good as it was before if not better. For those looking for something less full, they still make the Veritas Maduro, featuring tobaccos from a wide variety of countries. The Torch lines have been reduced to just Robusto and Toro vitolas in response to looming FDA regulations. (Buy up the Torpedo and Gran Toro vitolas now if you prefer those.) They also have plans to re-release some older blends for the same reason. We also take a look at the triple-wrapped barberpole called 3 Blends, which goes from a round shape at the head to box-pressed at the foot. It’s a cigar that covers all the bases.

Have you ever heard of a “toothpaste tube” vitola? I haven’t either. You’ll have to watch see what that’s all about. (It may be another one of my terrible ideas.)
