IPCPR 2017: La Palina

On the last day of IPCPR 2017 we stopped by to talk to Bill Paley about the latest in the world of La Palina. Based on our conversation with him at last year’s trade show, we weren’t surprised to hear La Palina was bringing a several new lines to the market. The first of the new products was a considerable expansion to the classic line, which will now be available in four different blends: Natural, Connecticut, Rosado and Maduro. The Natural is a reblended version of the original Classic.

Bill Paley also shows us the new, visually-striking Number Series, which begins with LP #1 (Ecuadorian Sumatra) and LP #2 (Costa Rican Maduro). He describes the profile of the LP #1 as a “sweet medium” and the LP #2 as a medium-full, and both will retail for slightly more than the Classic lines.

In terms of the FDA, he tells us that as much as 90% of La Palina’s cigar lines are predicate products and that the company has made it their policy to comply completely with the FDA regulations and esure the future of their cigar lines.
