Davidoff has really tried to capture the life of Winston Churchill in their Winston Churchill cigar line. The Late Hour was released to represent when Winston Churchill did his best work in the late hours of the night. Now Davidoff has released the newest limited edition to honor the travels of Winston Churchill as a statesman. Here is what Davidoff had to say about the new edition to the Winston Churchill line:
Inspired by Winston Churchill’s sense of travel, this new Robusto cigar boasts flavors from three distinct regions of the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Nicaragua, to create a rich and complex blend. To represent this worldly blend, the icon applied to the cigar boxes reflects some of the key places that marked Sir Winston Churchill’s path: cities like London and Washington that built the Commander and the Statesman, and places that inspired his art like Marrakesh.

Pre-Light
The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2019 has a rich, dark brown wrapper with a leathery appearance. The cigar has a well applied cap and looks well rolled as you would expect from a Davidoff product. After clipping the cap, I tested the draw which was perfect. I got notes of oak, earth and pepper on the cold draw.
First Half
The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2019 starts off with a blast of black pepper and really tingles the back of the palate. The black pepper is accompanied by notes of oak, caramel, black cherry and a slight nutmeg note. As it got closer to the midpoint, I started getting a nice coffee note that complimented the other flavors well. I also got a saltiness on the palate that is faint but really brightens the flavor profile. The body of the cigar is medium-full with full flavor.
Final Half
The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2019 gets more savory and less sweet on the last half. The caramel sweetness has faded to the background and I get more oak, pepper and a leather note. I get more of the pepper on the retrohale as well. The cigar is more full bodied near the end and full flavored.
Conclusion
The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2019 is another strong entry into the Davidoff portfolio that seems to be almost the way Davidoff is moving their cigar releases. I have to say that they are doing a great job with the non-traditional releases. Davidoff is known for their milder more refined offering, but since release of the Davidoff Nicaragua, they’ve been releasing stronger cigars like the Master Selection, Yamasa, Winston Churchill Late Hour, 702 Series and doing quite well with them. They aren’t your traditional power house cigars that sacrifices flavor for power. They have full body with the same Davidoff nuisance you would expect from their original lines. This one is no different. The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2019 has great flavor with a full body that more experienced cigar smokers are looking for. The sweet and savory flavor profile works really well, which you would want for a cigar that is $30. It’s another winner from Davidoff and one to try while they are still available.
