The H. Upmann Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Finca La Lilia 2009 has a nice rich brown, leathery-looking wrapper that is fairly smooth. It has a rather large cap applied which I cut with my Colibri v-cut. The draw is really nice with notes of cedar, leather and earth.
The H. Upmann Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Finca La Lilia 2009 has notes of black pepper, roasted nuts, cedar, and a hint of sugar. The cigar has a pretty short finish as well. Not much is really going on, honestly. The flavors are really toned down and, as I stated, the cigar has a short finish so there isn’t much to the cigar. The burn is still good with a full body.
The H. Upmann Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Finca La Lilia 2009 not much has changed, honestly. All the notes have toned down even more, though, except the cedar note. The cigar just gotten really woody…..and that’s about it. The cigar has actually become very basic and boring so I’m losing interest pretty quick. The cigar still burning well with a full body.
The H. Upmann Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Finca La Lilia 2009 isn’t that good to me. The flavors were very basic and it had a very short finish. It’s a shell of the original release which I loved. I don’t like large format cigars, like the gordo size, even though some are quite good, but this one didn’t have the flavor to offset the size for me. These are a limited edition so give them a try if you liked the original release and judge for yourself. For me, its a pass.
