I’m back! Thanks for everyone wondering where I was the past week. Had some family business going on so I was away from the site for most of last week. Thanks to Walt & Brian for holding down the fort while I took some personal time.

I bring you the Lonsdale sized (6.5″ x 44) Don Tomas Dominican Selection with its Dominican wrapper, Mexican binder and interesting four country filler from the Dominican, Nicaragua, Mexico and Brazil. This is supposed to be a full bodied cigar.

I loved this cigar in my humidor. The reddish hue from the wrapper and the its box pressed shape are attractive.

Easy draw and had a real even burn in the beginning but after the first third, the burn started to get a little erratic. I’ve experienced this with other box pressed cigars so it wasn’t that much of a surprise. Flavor profile was a rich earthy taste with some woodsy notes, mostly cedar. Every now and then I got the occassional taste of coccoa but mostly that earthy, cedar taste I mentioned.

I was sad to learn that this cigar has been discontinued as it was a very well balanced cigar. Maybe not the full bodied cigar thats advertised but only a notch or so below that but otherwise a well balanced cigar that could fit in any rotation.
