While the holiday weekend was getting into full swing, I had an email hit my inbox that I thought was very interesting. Unlike many of the press releases that we receive at the Stogie Review, this one came with the chance for our readers to score a free cigar.
It seems that Miami Cigar Company wants to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a bang. On June 12, 2009, Miami Cigar is declaring it “National Nestor Miranda Cigar Day”. On this day, anyone that purchases any cigar in one of their 500 authorized retail accounts, is entitled to a free Nestor Special Selection 20 Aniversario (7” x 56 – Danno).
The Press Release:
Miami, FL, 26 May 09…In a unique combination of celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Miami Cigar & Company, an expression of gratitude to the cigar smoking community and a promotion of the eponymous Nestor Miranda cigar, Miami Cigar & Company, has named Friday, June 12th “National Nestor Miranda Cigar Day.” Like the cigar it extols – the name itself is quite a mouthful!
On “National Nestor Miranda Cigar Day,” Miami Cigar will make a gift of a Nestor Miranda Special Selection 20 Aniversario (7” x 56 – Danno) to every smoker who wants one. All the smoker has to do is to buy a cigar – any cigar, made by any cigar maker – at one of the 500 Nestor Miranda Special Selection Authorized Dealers. Again, that’s any cigar; made by any cigar maker. The tobacconist will give him the “Danno,” with Miami Cigars’ compliments.
Introduced in 2008, the Nestor Miranda Collection, Special Selection, has become an enormous success. The 20 Aniversario version, the “Danno,” with a limited production of 2,000 boxes (1,000 boxes each medium bodied Habano Rosado, and the full bodied Habano Oscuro), has been an overnight sensation.
The ‘National Nestor Miranda Cigar Day,’ is Miami Cigar & Company’s way of thanking the smokers for their enthusiastic support of the company’s brands for the past twenty years, and to reassert Miami Cigar’s commitment to continue bringing you great cigars in the years to come.
To locate your Authorized Dealer, go to www.nestormirandacigars.com and follow the instructions on the site.
“All I ask,” said Nestor Miranda, “is that they smoke the “Danno” that afternoon. Anyone who wishes to comment on the cigar, after smoking it, can e-mail me at Nestor at NestorMirandaCigars dot com, I am very interested in receiving those comments.”
NOTE: The cigars will be available at each Nestor Miranda Special Selection Authorized Dealer as long as supplies last.
The first thing I did after receiving the press release was to hit up the Nestor Miranda website to check the listing of authorized retailers. It seems that the website is being worked on and not all portions are available (including the retailer listing). I’d suggested checking it out a few timed before June 12th just to make sure your local shop is an authorized retailer and not buying product from a distributor.
Well for any readers the reside not far away from Harrisburg the shop I go to is participating. They got a bunch of boxes of these 20th Annies a couple weeks ago. The shop is The Tobacco Company in Lemyone (across the Susquehanna from the capitol).
Well I think they are participating.
