A month or so ago I reviewed the Don Tomas Maduro and was quiet surprised by how the maduro performed, the flavors and the price point. I decided to explore more of the offerings from the Don Tomas stable of cigars and our new moderator on The SR Fan Forums, KnightRid, was nice enough to provide me with a 5 pack for this review.
Video runs a little over 12 minutes and even though the Don Tomas Cameroon Collection comes in at an economical price point of around $3, it doesn’t impress as much as the maduro did. There isn’t a single thing about the Cameroon that I can put my finger on but if I had $3 burning in my pocket, I’d save it until I had $6 and pick up something more worthwhile.
HEY JERRY!!!! I FORGOT TO ASK YOU I KNOW YOU LOVE CAMEROON CIGARS I NEVER WAS A FAN OF THEM UNTILL NOT LONG AGO ANYWAY HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE PARTAGAS 160?
Awesome review!
SPOT ON! I smoked my 5-pack and just did not find them very interesting at all! I have since smoked the Don Tomas Connecticut and enjoyed that 50X more! These cameroons seem like they are 3rd or 4th grade cigars and for what you get I think the price should be even cheaper!
Now I did pick these 5 packs up for around $8 each I think when they were on sale at Famous, so yes, I went cheap on you Jerry – LOL For the price I paid, I could see using them as a smoke when you dont have much time so if you put them out after the halfway point, it wont be so bad.
nfleric – for what it is worth – I had 1 Partagas 160 gifted to me by Matt on the forums and i did enjoy it quite a bit! When I went looking to buy more and saw the price, I was a bit discouraged 😉 They are a wonderful cigar but are just priced out of my reach for anything other than a “special occasion” smoke.
Mike
Jerry – I think you should video yourself cutting and lighting the cigar with your gimpiness 😉
I love the Dom Tomas Maduros. I just bought a 5-pack for a return-to-college celebration. They have great flavor, are cheap, and the burn is AWESOME!
My go to Cameroon’s are the Arturo Fuente Short Story and the Oliva Serie G Torpedo. Thanks 4 the review.
