Picking up the last leg of our IPCPR 2017 coverage, we stop by the huge Gurkha booth to get the latest from Eddy Guerra. Eddy gets us started by showing us the new tubos for Cellar Reserve 12, Cellar Reserve 15 and Royal Challenge. This development is a response to long time customer demand, and are available in boxes of either 3 or 20. Next we see Havana Legend, a brand from back in 1999, revived in response to looming FDA legislation. The cigar features an Ecuadorian Habana wrapper, Dominican Binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. The budget-friendly cigar will retail from $5 to $8, plus applicable taxes.
We also take a look at a limited edition parejo version of the Cellar Reserve, commemorating its tenth anniversary. It comes in special humidor, and the whole thing, including 50 cigars, retails for $700. And then there’s the Master Select OVB (Original Vintage Blend), another line brought back (from 2001) because of FDA considerations.
And last but not least, we look at the Gurkha Aged Cabinet Selection, a limited edition cigar made by Abe Flores, and Gurkha’s shiny new ashtrays. The Aged Cabinet Selection is available in one size, a 5 x 50 robusto, but with two choices of wrappers- Connecticut and Habano. It will retail for $5, plus applicable taxes.
