Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic (Guest Review)

This weeks Guest review is of the Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic (Black label) and comes Courtesy of Jeremiah.

I first tried this cigar about 6 mos. ago but am new to smoking and had to find my taste. After having many other cigars I found myself wanting to try this cigar once again. I ordered 10 sticks online and after I got them open I started smoking one almost immediately.

The size was a robusto (5.0″ X 50) with a caramel colored corojo wrapper and tobacco from Nicaragua.

The pre light was simply that it was packed very well with tobacco and it wasn’t full of veins either. The cutting was easy and it toasted well. The cigar burned evenly throughout and I even had to set it down a few times and come back to it. Every time it was still burning well.

The first third was mostly of an earthy tone until towards the end and beginning of the second when I could pick up hints of cedar flavor. This lasted throughout until the last part of the final third.

The second third was when I could taste spicy pepper and this blended very well with the cedar taste but wasn’t too overpowering. A nice coating of flavor was on my lips and this was awesome.

The last third was full of spice and cedar until the end. I had to toothpick this thing I was enjoying it so much. I couldn’t put it down. Only when the tobacco got too hot did I have to lay it down to rest.

I will definitely make space in my humidor for more of these cigars and would recommend that you try one if you haven’t already. They sell for about $5.40 a stick and are a great tasting cigar.
Happy smoking to you all!

Take a look at how the Petit Lancero stacks up against the Robusto.
