A few days ago I got a surprise email from a very prominent member of the Cigar Industry. Mr Jose Blanco, from La Aurora, was kind enough to send me an email expressing how much he enjoyed the site and the content we provide here at Stogie Review.
After trading emails back and forth, Jose was kind enough to offer a little advice to our readers.
People always ask me which is the best cigar and I always say, actually there’s two the one you like and a free one. Cigars are very personal, it’s all about what you like.
Every person has a tolerance scale that goes from 1 to 10 and depending on the time of day, what you have eaten, and the state of mind, that will determine your final evaluation. You have to keep in mind what could be mild for some people could be full bodied for others. The consumer has to find what he really enjoys and people have to realize that cigars in the last couple of years have gotten better. It does not matter if it’s a big company or a small one, the majority are making great stuff. One thing also is that cigars today are more flavorful, complex, and better constructed.
Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua are competing to out do themselves. Personally I think even though there’s some great cigars out there, the best is yet to come.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you guys out there for the support you give us, the manufactures. Without it we would not be around. Take care and enjoy every time you can one of the true pleasures in life.
Jose, thank you for your kind words and advice. It is greatly appreciated.
