YQMA #40 – Segment Two

We kick off segment two with a question from Eric who needs help with seasoning his humidor and alternatives to the green foam which leads into a nice little rant from our own Brian Hewitt. After Brian’s little rant we tackle Josh’s question about the level of humidity he should have in his coolidor. We wrap up segment two with a topic given to us from Carlos in NJ about oily cigars and additives to improve the sheen of cigars. This discussion also takes us into talking about how many cigars we normally smoke in a day.

Thanks to Cigar Place for sponsoring Segment Two.

  1. Hey guys. Sorry I haven’t responded sooner than this video was published, but I really want to thank all 3 of you especially Jerry for first looking into my issue. It was awesome how long you guys went into the question and really making my life easier. What doesn’t make my life easier is that the green foam in my humidor is glued shut to the lid thanks to me (I had a chance when the humi was ok to remove the foam, and I didn’t). So what I did yesterday was I purchased a cigar sampler from an ad I saw in Rolling Stone Magazine on CI’s site. It comes with 8 cigars 5 Vegas Gold Toro, Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon Robusto Fonseca 5-50 , Gurkha Connecticut Reserve Robusto #4 , Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Toro Maduro,
Perdomo Slow-Aged Lot 826 Glorioso , Perdomo Reserve Sungrown ’E’, and Puros Indios Reserva Maxima ’03 Robusto) and a 20-count Perdomo Reserve Humidor. This is a box humidor as appose to my old humidor which was a jar-type, and it appears to have a humidification device which I can fill myself. What do you think of this humidor and should I use the built-in humidification device or go with Drymist tubes or Boveda packs? THANKS!
    ~Erik
