One day, a few days prior to leaving for the Famous Cigar Expo 2011, I was messing around with my Flip Camera when I had an idea. Wouldn’t it be cool if I used the camera to create a video diary of significant cigar events, like Cigar Expo?
I could carry the video camera around in my pocket, then whip it out and record some random video footage. Would I capture something remarkably interesting or would it be tremendously boring? Either way, I thought it was worth a shot and asked Mike to participate as well (he had his own pocket video camera).
I had a lot of fun with the recordings and thought they were worth sharing. Please keep in mind that there really isn’t much value in this video, aside from some entertainment. I have event footage (basically me walking around with my camcorder) that will be posted later to give you a better look at the event itself.

Walt, these videos that you have been making lately are what the SR needs! I like the non-standard cigar vids like your humidor diving and these little flip cam vids are cool too! keep’em coming! I also like how you were trying to focus in on the beer girl’s ass, you horn dog! haha!
Yeah, I should have been using my HD Camcorder, it has far better zoom capabilities….. LOL
I’m glad you like these more laid back videos. They are a lot easier to manage and it keeps the family happy when I’m not editing into the twilight hours

I’d have to watch the video again for a count on cigars, but for a big event like this I would bet my total was on the low end, if you average out what everyone in attendance was smoking. I tend to smoke less frequently so that I can easily operate my camera(s).
A lot of smoking was back at my first IPCPR convention. I smoked in excess of 15 cigars on day one (as did Brian and Jerry) of the week long event. We all learned our lesson that year.
The video footage was a home run. Very fresh and interesting. I really wanted to make it out there this year but couldn’t pull it off. The video made me feel like I was there!
