Wrapper : Dominican Republic?
Binder : Dominican Republic
Filler : Dominican Republic
Source : Wife made me buy
I have for you today a cigar made by Arganese called Big Pig in the maduro wrapper.
These come in one size, 6×60 and are available from SmokerFriendly.com or any of the Smoker Friendly stores around the country. I honestly have no idea where my local store got them from since they are not a Smoker Friendly branded shop.
Pre-Light
Taking a look at this Big Pig Maduro and it looks dyed. I mean really dyed. It also feels really wet even after keeping it in my 70% humidor for a week.
Wrapper gives off a chocolate scent and the cold draw was more of a chocolate liquor.
No band on this cigar just the outer wrapper on the 5-pack.
It has the pig tail on the head and it also has a closed foot which I am not a fan of.
Let’s get this thing started.
Cigar
Starting out the Big Pig Maduro I was met with a bit of chocolate, the bitter kind, wood, natural tobacco and something i am going to call chocolate liquor. It was a liquor taste but I am not versed enough in liquors to narrow it down.
I would say after an inch or so it was a solid medium body.
As I got into the cigar more I was getting a spice through the sinus’ that would really linger a long time.
Wood. Main flavor the whole way through after the initial inch. There was a little bit of the chocolate and liquor but the wood made it’s presence known and hung around the whole way through.
I would say the cigar ended on a high medium to low full note at best.
Wrap-Up
Would I buy it again? No.
I was not impressed by the cigar at all. This stick is a plain jane smoke that may be good for mowing the grass but nothing else.
In all honesty, I think the Devil’s Weed Maduro was better than this at a cheaper price for a super cheap smoke. Yea, I didn’t care for this at all.
Good thing I can blame my wife for making me buy these.

It’s a good thing that there isn’t a store in my area. 😉 This sounds like the Arganese FDW, which also has a Milan Marble Maduro, pigtail cap, and closed foot. Quite frankly, I would shy away from this just because of the size and name.
Thanks for the review/warning.
why would you smoke something like that?
So you don’t have to 😉
Can’t say I’ve ever heard of this one. Looks like something you’d find in a convenient store.
Your wife should have to smoke one too since it was her pick.
“Marble Maduro” – hilarious! Talking about marketing spin! I guess “we dorked this cigar up in production” isn’t quite as catchy… that is one fugly-ass cigar. I am all about a value smoke but I am really surprised you were able to get through that 5 pack. The more I think about it, if I was already committed to a 5 pack, I would have smoke them all too regardless if I was trying to do a review. =)
Keep those cheap bastard reviews coming!
BTW – How is that Rabbit Air treating you? I know you had some parts issues with it a while back. It is sort of good that you ran into issues because you can talk to the customer service in addition to the unit too.
Where on earth do you find this stuff? LOL
That is one unique cigar that took a courageous leap to buy.
Mike, you are a brave man.
But thanks for reviewing these. Makes me feel better about my Free Cubas and Flor Del Todos!
