A few months ago I began to hear local rumors of a new Cigars International location coming to town. The initial buzz was that the new location would be a Cigar Bar, much like their Wooden Match location in Bethlehem. I didn’t care to much for this news (Cigars and Over-Priced drinks don’t go hand in hand with my current cigar budget).
The second tid-bit of news was the part I found very interesting. The rumor was that this new store was going in practically across the parking lot from Cabela’s in Hamburg, PA. I suddenly became interested, even if a Cigar Bar was something I would seldom use.
Not long after hearing the news, I took drive up to Cabela’s to pick up an IDPA Vest. As I drove past, I saw the building in question. It was a long way from being complete but it looked massive for a cigar bar, even one so close to a local attraction. Could it be a Cigars International Superstore, wound’t that be fantastic news…
Yesterday we received an email from what appears to be a PR Agency, promoting the new store. Within that email was fantastic news, the huge building is actually going to be a Cigars International Superstore. With the closing of Kensington Tobbaconist so many months ago, I’ve felt like I’ve had no Cigar Shop to call home.
With the proximity of this store being some thirty-minutes away, it has the potential to become my new cigar hang out. Granted, it will never have the same feel as a small B&M but between the proximity and their frequency of events, I am absolutely giddy.
The store is scheduled to open in early November and I’ve began trying to organize a little herf with some old cigar buddies. We haven’t ironed out which day we’ll be going (we are leaning towards Saturday), but if you are in the area and plan on checking out the new Cigars International Superstore, drop me a line in the comments section. Maybe we can meet up and share a few laughs over a cigar or two.
