We met up with a more trim and athletic Steve Saka this year in the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust booth at IPCPR / CPA 2019. Before we get down to business, we get find out what Steve’s favorite fishing lures are for smallmouth bass. But since since it is a cigar trade show, and we are cigar press, we get into the new cigars. On the milder end of things, there’s the new Sobremesa Brûlée, or “your grandfather’s Connecticut”. A cigar Saka sees as an entry point to the world of Dunbarton for mild cigar smokers. And then on the other end of spectrum, there’s the new Mi Querida Triqui Traca, a punchier, more potent blend of the Mi Querida.
From there we get into a little lancero talk, cigar release strategy, the recent diet challenge and the upcoming round two of the bet, problems with social media for cigar fans, and finally we get into the possible “consumer day” at the next trade show. His perspective on the consumer day might surprise you.
