This past Friday my good friend at W.Curtis Draper invited me and my camera to their new Bethesda location to an evening with Avo Uvezian to celebrate his 85th birthday. While Avo’s birthday was really March 22nd he’s spent his birthday month traveling and celebrating his birthday with many brothers and sisters of the leaf. To celebrate his birthday, W.Curtis Draper held a special dinner in his honor complete with an AVO 85th, AVO Companero and AVO Tesoro LE 2008 for each attendee to smoke. The dinner was catered by Guardado’s Restaurant and music by Unified Jazz Ensemble. For me and others though, the highlight of the evening was when Avo himself, along with Paul Garmirian and Unified Jazz Ensemble played a couple tunes together. It was an amazing experience to sit, watch and listen to a living legend in the cigar world jam out. The video doesn’t do the experience justice but thought you guys would enjoy nonetheless. Cheers to Avo!
