As stated in the Herf’n Heads – Featuring the Fuente Anejo Reserva No. 48 writeup, Brian and I got rather chatty and recorded a video of staggering length. In an effort to make the discussion more manageable for our average viewer, we have broken out the discussion into four separate videos. Each video varies in length and focuses on the discussion that happened between us reviewing the Fuente Anejo Reserva No. 48.
This particular breakout includes the following discussion topics:
- Interesting cigars that Brian has been smoking
- Monte Pascoal Brazilian Puro
- Fuentes Crucet
- Sean Williams of El Primer Mundo
- Willy Herrera of El Titan de Bronze

Walt – Yup the Dona Flor was a Brazilian Puro. As of late that are MIA and I suspect they lost the battle they were in with the “Other” Dona Flor. Last I heard they were pushing a newer Nicaraguan (I think) line called Fogo. But like I said, as of lately they are completely MIA.
Although I like the Monte Pascoal, I’d take a Dona Flor Selecao over it any day. About the Bonita house blend… I was leery but yea he nailed the blend. Jackie had a vision in her head and he met her expectations.
Anyhow, I enjoy these educational BS sessions. Keep em comin’.
Tom,
I got annoyed by the confusion and simply avoided the line. Whoever made the Dona Flor a few years ago (before it was two separate companies) did a decent job with the product.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment
I completely understand. Had Ed not had the inside scoop, I would probably have not bothered with the line as well. And now that they are MIA, well, I’m taking the same stance as you. There are too many good smokes out there to worry about one brand that fell off the face of the earth. It’s too bad, they had a good thing going.
