Location: Above Average
WiseAsh is pretty conveniently located, just outside the perimeter (285) on Cobb Parkway. Getting there is easy, and bonus, it’s not far from a mall. Drop the wife or girlfriend off at the mall, and head to the shop. Win-win.

Staff: Above Average
Currently, John is both owner and operator of the establishment, so you won’t find yourself talking to some kid who doesn’t smoke cigars manning the shop. He knows his stuff, and is more than happy to tell you what you wnat to know, without shadowing you in the humidor.

Stock: Average (but improving)
The shop is pretty new and as such is still going through the hoops to land a Padron account, and is missing some other stock you might expect to seen in every humidor. However, he is getting new stuff in all the time, and he has smokes you won’t find elsewhere. (El Titan De Bronze, for example.) You will have no trouble finding a smoke you enjoy, and you’re sure to find something new.

The stock is well ordered, and the humidor still looks like a new humidor. I’ve yet to see anything that would give one pause.

I haven’t paid too close an attention to price, everything seems reasonably priced. (Well, except maybe those Between the Lines. LOL)

Lounge: Above Average
The lounge in the back of the shop is great. Hi Def TV, plenty of seating, a fridge full of non-alcoholic beverages, a pod coffee maker, and a poker table. Everything you need for a good time at the shop. There are lockers available as well. (Haven’t used one myself.)

And as a bonus, Sean Williams from El Primer Mundo can often be found just hanging out in the lounge.

Overall Opinion: Above average
John gave this shop a lot of thought before he opened it, and it shows. It’s well laid out and uncrowded. There’s always a place to sit in the lounge and always something great to smoke in the humidor. It’s a little out of the way for me, but I make a point to get out there every couple of weeks. I’m looking forward to the character this shop develops as it gets a little older.

  1. Nice review, and spot on, Johns is just a bit too far for me to drive, particularly with poker night being right after rush hour, and being located on the other side of the city.

  2. Brian, thanks for the kinds words. Our inventory has grown since your review, we’ve added brands such as Padron, Ashton and Illusione, among others, to all the popular lines we already had. Stop by next time you’re in the area.

    John
