Location: Average
OS’s is a little out of the way (about 10min off of I-85), and is in a shopping center that doesn’t have much going for it. It is in a general area that has 5-6 shops within a 5 mile radius, which is good and bad.

Staff: Exceptional
The staff at OS’s is top notch. Superior customer service, some of the nicest people you will find in a cigar shop. Not the most knowledgeable, but they are learning, but their enthusiasm for what they do is infectious. You can really feel that they genuinely appreciate your presence in the shop.

Stock: Average
Their humidor is maintained very well, no problems. Their selection is a little weak, but its perfect for their clientele (average stick cost is around $5). They have a couple high end sticks, but the bulk of their business comes from bundles, and Oliva. Decent accessory selection, and they are developing a Dart inventory. I have to give OS’s credit, they aren’t building up any dept by buying lots of big name facings. When they have the coin, they bring in what they can.

Lounge: Average
Nice and spacious, one couch and 6 chairs. The chairs are not that comfortable, the couch is great. There is a side table for poker, and a couple rocking chairs and a bench up front for chess and old folks. 8 person card table for poker on saturday, and two professional dart boards on either end of the shop. The TV is just a regular tube tv, but it serves its purpose. Not high end by any means, but suitable, and no feeling of paying for it with the prices of the sticks. Oh… Free soft drinks!!! When you buy a stick.

Overall Opinion: Exceptional
This is my favorite shop. I drive 30 minutes to get to OS’s, and I don’t think twice about it. The nicest staff, great conversations, just a great place to go relax and unwind. Ed, Bo and Ren welcome each and every person with open arms, and a genuine sense that they care you stopped by, even if its just to pick up a pack of cloves (yuk!!). If you are in the area, its definitely work popping in, and if you are fortunate to be around on a Saturday, its like a herf every weekend!

  1. If Ed, Ren, and Bo weren’t so nice, I probably wouldn’t spend so much time at Ole Stogie & Sons; which would make my wife happier. Seriously though, it’s a great place to network with down-to-earth folks while having a good cigar. Their selection is growing every week, so there are always new things to try.

  2. I live in Lexington, SC. I go to the Maduro room here, very nice shop. I have friends that live in Lawrenceville and will make a point to go by there next time I’m there. Thanks for the heads up on this shop
