SR 12 Days of Christmas – Day 3 Winner

Room 101 Cigars

With the first two days of the Second Annual Stogie Review 12 Days of Christmas behind us, we are beginning to to hit our stride. The announcement today, as you may have guessed it, is to congratulate our latest contest winner.

The contest was pretty straight forward, we asked that you send in a cigar review to be featured here on Stogie Review. For their efforts, the winner would earn themselves a box of Room 101 “305” Cigars courtesy of Bonita Smoke Shop.

Because of the format of the review, I have made it available for download as a PDF until I can incorporate it into Stogie Review. What makes this review unique is that it compares two popular cigars, one with age and one without. Those two cigars are the Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label from 2009 (Imperiales Size) and the Don pepin Garcia Blue Label from 2007 (Torpedo).

And the Winner of the Box of Room 101 “305” Cigars is

Dave Hanifan

With Day 3 in the books, we will be making another post tomorrow to announce the winner of Day 4. If you have not sent in your entry for Day 4, take a look at the Stogie Review 12 Days of Christmas Announcement for details on how to win a box of Jameson Black Label Robustos.

With a a few more shopping days remaining before Christmas, don’t forget to pass along your Cigar Related Christmas List to friends and family. If your friends and family have never purchased cigars before, be sure to have them read our article on Giving the Gift of Cigars.

  1. Whoot!!!!! I’d love to do a parody of Dave Z’s complaint of how this review was stolen and my review was so much better but I’m not sure people would get it. But I do hope in all seriousness that people enjoy the review. It was a fun one to do and I actually learned quite a bit. I was quite a bit surprised by the conclusion. Before I did the comparison, I would have guessed the 2009 would have won. Just goes to show the value of the scientific method. My hypothesis was wrong. q.e.d.

    1. Don’t kid yourself, Dave…you know you stole it. Shit, I should have won and I didn’t even submit a review!…lol

In all seriousness, nice job on the review!

  2. Great review, my only critique is in the list of brands pepin makes you missed the “little havana over-runs” from holts. Best bundle you can get. Story is he made those cigars to be a regular priced box brand, the company he made them for never put up the cash at the end, holts baught it out, cigar did great, so they kept up production.

I already have one of these guys in my humidor, and after reading this i moved it into my “aging” side.

    Congrats.

  3. Hey, big shout out for Bonita Smoke Shop. They sponsored the prize and I got the cigars. As a note, they shipped the box with a Boveda 69% humidity bag in a sealed plastic bag. VERY nice touch. I’ve smoked one already and it’s a great cigar. Better then I expected quite frankly. I think the Camacho Room 101 is a home run cigar. Wouldn’t displace any in my Top 10, but still, a great cigar.
