In the grand scheme of things I haven’t been smoking very long. But since then (1996) I can’t remember a candela wrapper stirring so much buzz. Maybe it has to do with “who” is making this candela. When you think of boutique and unique cigars, Dion Giolito and his Illusione line is typically one of the first, if not the first, to be named. The Illusione ~hl~ is my favorite cigar in the Illusione line so imagine how excited I am to see it being produced in a maduro wrapper and how intrigued I am with it in a candela.
The illisione ~hl~ was recommended to me to try for my first of this brand, and I love maduros, so looking forward to picking up a 2- or 3-pack of each to give those a try.
And this week, alot of people at the IPCPR BOTLCH were blown away by illusione’s new candella cigar. I’m not sure if it will be made available to the general public, but I hope so!! I’ve never tried a candella, but the tweets I read said it was the smoothest candella that anyone had ever had. Even Jonathon Drew of Drew Estate cigars was commenting to that point!
