In another section of the Drew Estate booth we talked to Philip Zanghi, founder of Debonaire House about he brought to IPCPR 2017. Because this is his first time talking to us on camera, he starts us off with a quick introduction to the Debonaire House product line. First is Indian Motorcycle, which he describes as “a good-smoking, very floral cigar” with a medium body. It features and Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Dominican and Nicraguan fillers, and retails from $7 to $10, plus applicable taxes.
Then of course there is the eponymous Debonaire. The line started with the Nicaraguan Habano and Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro blends. New to the show is the Daybreak blend, which features and Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. As the name implies, the idea was to produce a cigar ideal for starting off the day. The Debonaire Daybreak has the same internals as the Habano and Maduro, and will retail from $6.00 for the smallest vitola (a 4 x 44 called “First Degree”) up to $13.25 for the Belicoso (6 x 54). Plus applicable taxes and etc., of course. It ships in October. (Just under the video below I have included the a full press release with some additional details.)
Phil also tells us a little about the process he calls Alchemy. The tobacco that goes into Debonaire cigars is treated to steam from distilled water after the final fermentation. This “sweats” the tobacco. As the moisture evaporates, it takes with it pesticide and fertilizer residue, while leave behind the essential oils. He says the resulting tobacco is both rich and deep in flavor, while very clean on the palate.
Monday, June 26, 2017 — Santiago, Dominican Republic / Miami, FL – Debonaire House announced today the release of Daybreak, the third addition of the Debonaire Ultra Premium Cigars lineup. Debonaire Daybreak and the lines new packaging will be displayed in Drew Estate’s booth (Booth #2608) at the IPCPR Convention and Tradeshow held July 11 – 14, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Daybreak is the product of those desires and is the beautiful third-addition to the Debonaire Ultra Premium Cigars lineup. Daybreak allows more smokers to connect our product line and invites more people to find their place within the Debonaire Ideal.” Phillip continues: “the box upgrades for Debonaire Ultra Premium Cigars are an exciting addition to this ultra premium line, too! We felt that the cigars warranted a fresh, upgraded idea of packaging; one that is friendlier for the retailer’s shelves and better fits the Debonaire Ideal by design: the constant pursuit of bettering overall.”
