Welcome back for another Episode of Your Questions, My Answers Episode 32. Just like last time, I’ve broken the show down into three segments all with separate video for your watching convince.
Segment 1
Question 1 from Anthony via Youtube
This is a question more directed towards Ed for YQMA #32. I’d like to know how did he get into the cigar business? From a viewpoint of an owner of a B&M, what does he think are the biggest issues facing the cigar industry? Lastly, if he could go back and do it all again would he do anything different (bigger shop, online presence, etc,)? I’d also like to see you guys answer these questions from a standpoint of “the media” and what you guys would do differently if you were starting Stogie Review with everything you guys know now.
Question 2 from Kevin via Voicemail
Some of you guys seem to developing some great relationships with retailers/manufacturers. Do you find that you are biased towards their cigars when you review them, now that you have gotten to know the people behind the scenes?
Question 3 from James via Contact Form
I really enjoy peppery flavors and was wondering if you guys could recommend a cigar that would be peppery from start to finish. I find this characteristic in the Partagas Black and AVO Domane but would like to broaden my selection.
Segment 2
Question 4 from Pete via Voicemail
Two of my favorite cigars are the 5 Vegas Serie A and CAO Brazilia. It seems that these cigars always smoke wonderfully through the first half then become difficult to keep lit. I maintain my humidor at 68% RH and 70 degrees.
Question 5 from Angelo via Myspace
Hi Jerry, I am relatively new to the fun world of “stogies”. I have been keeping a modest supply of stock in a humidor. I have recently become attracted to the Cigarillo world and I was wondering if I should be concerned at all about putting them in the same humidor with all the “Big Daddies”? Also, can you recommend any good cigorillos?
Question 6 from Jason via Voicemail
I’ve noticed that many large online retailers have some sort of exclusive cigar. Have you had any of these that really stand out among the crowd?
Segment 3
Discussion Topics include:
- Jameson Cigar Giveaway
- Cigar Live’s new “Live” cigar by George Rico is close to being released. If your site/forum exploded overnight who would you want to make your cigar?
- What cigar accessory have you had your eye on asof late?
- What have we been smoking?
To enter to win an Arganese Maduro 3 Pack send in a voicemail with your question for the next episode by 5:00 PM EST on 5/5/08 . Entires will be played during the show and a winner will be selected at random.
Voicemail can be sent through the Skype software to user wwhite72082 or by dialing (610) 572-2636
Guys awesome review, I enjoyed it a great deal. Keep up the great work and I look forward to this weeks reviews. As always “Never smoke a shitty cigar, life is too short!”
Joel
probably one of the best episodes yet! its awesome having so much input.
This was by far the best YQMA…I’m sure it was hell having to edit so many different vids, but wow, it’s so worth watching the final product!
It just keeps getting better and better.
Thanks guys!!
Hey Walt,
How bout syncing Mac and PC video???
Hands down the best episode of YQMA. Its great to have Jerry’s input.
Great job on editing. Looks like Walt did the editing since his footage is the only one that doesn’t look compressed. But overall good quality with OUTSTANDING content!
Walt – Fantastic job editing! Jerry should be smacked a few times for making your editing job harder. I’m sure you guys will be able to figure it out…had did you guys do it last time?
Anyway, I agree with the other comments. Best YQMA episode in the history! Informative and entertaining. Give your selves a pat on the back Stogie Review, you guys deserve it!
All these comments! I can’t wait to watch…damn you work! So many videos, so little time. Can’t wait for lunch time to roll around.
Great review but please, don’t ever walk into a store asking for Cojones 03….they’ll laugh at you and get a cigar and pull a “Road Trip” on it.. The word is Cojonu…co-ho-new.
Vic,
I edited the video pretty much the same way I’ve done in the past. It isn’t difficult, just time consuming.
The entire editing process took me roughly 12 hours (give or take an hour). The time went bye fairly quickly though, it was fun to watch some of the video while editing (Especially the Cojones Face part).
I’m glad everyone enjoyed the video, it was alot of fun to hang out and shoot the breeze with Jerry, Brian, Tom, and Ed.
-Walt
Hey Walt you can’t hear Q3 for Segment 1.
But anyway, excellent episode! I’m still on Segment 1, but this is great!
JERRY THE INTRO WAS SO GOOD! It got me so pumped up to watch this!
What a great episode! Even though I was there, I really enjoyed re-living it. I’m lucky enough to chill with Ed all the time. But it was quite a treat to hang out with the Walt, Brian, and Jerry again.
Awesome editing as well. The cuts were seamless and natural.
Wow, just finished watching. What an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME EPISODE!! It was so much fun!! Lots of people, lots of good questions, lots of good answers, and great editing! Excellent job guys! Best episode yet!
“…and my women” HAHAHA! Great one Brian. Hehehe.
Seriously! What a great episode!!!!!!!!! Can’t get over it!
Hey guys. I saw you mention the Famous Nic 3000 and so I headed on over to their wesite. Which size do you guys prefer ?
Great as always. Must say it’s great to see Jerry back. Loved the extras at the end. 😀
I enjoyed the B.S. session. This is part of what enjoying a cigar is all about. Keep up the good work. I’d like to suggest a peppery cigar for James to try. I had a box of Arturo Fuente Chateau Reserve maduro Rothchilds that were reasonably priced, easy smoking, and very peppery to smoke. I thinks it’s worth a try.
