Up until recently my experience with Drew Estate product was very limited. Not having had a very memorable experience with the Liga Privada No. 9, I was never very eager to give the Liga Privada T52 line a try. It wasn’t until a recent show of extreme generosity that I got my first taste of the T52. I was left wowed and was eager to fire up a Liga Privada T52 Flying Pig sample I was given during IPCPR by Johnny Brooke.
In the video below, I spend roughly five minutes absolutely gushing over how much I enjoyed the stick. I’ve only had one, but I think that I would go out on a limb and call this stick Top 10 Cigar of the Year caliber. After checking out the video, head down to the comments section and share your thoughts on the Liga Privada line.
Thanks for the review! I absolutely adore the T-52 blend. It’s “Tits” as Jerry says 🙂 The #9 Flying Pig is my favorite vitola of that blend, so I’m expecting big things from the T-52 version. I hope to score at least one box of these.
For now, I’ll have to be content with a Double Corona I have slated for later this week!
I had no idea the T52 Flying Pig was so rare until after this video was recorded. I’d love to smoke some more, fantastic cigar.
Thanks for the comment.
I have smoked the T52 in a different vitola and really enjoyed it as well. Interested in trying this one too…..6:45am for your first smoke? Really? Wow…..You make me feel like an innocent cigar virgin…
Pfhou,
I’m an early riser, so 6:45 isn’t so bad. In this case my fist cigar of the day came a little more than three-hours after I was out of bed (I think my infant daughter had my wife and I awake around 3:30).
I was surprised by the T52, it really did wow me. Thanks for the comment.
Just an FYI, the T52 Pigs won’t be hitting shelves until November.
Wow Walt, I have been following your posts for a while now and I have checked out your website for sometime, Kurt from Kensington Tobacconist, great place, great guy. I’m blown away at this website and your post have been really early for me. I may be an early riser but I normally don’t fire one up till about noon. Thanks for the review. and as you say.. Happy Smokeing
Great review. The #9 “PIG” was the first LP stick I smoked and everybody at my B&M thought I was a dork by how visibly taken I was with this cigar. I hope I get a T52 Pig because I have high expectations that these will be something special! Thanks for confirming my assumptions!
Again, keep up the good work and thanks for a great website and reviews I can bank on.
Jack
Guys,
Thanks for the wonderful feedback.
Best,
JD
Great Review and Im looking forward to trying the T54 Pigs. Loved the No 9 Pigs. Drew Estate is making some of the best smokes in the industry today. Keep up the great work JD.
t52 flying pig not the same impact for me as robusto! The rat is the one for sure to spend the moooooolah on!
It’s been a while and i have been on a LP terror as of late.
T52: Best vitola for this line to date is the Toro for me.
PIG: I think I was just too impatient. Should have let the cigars rest longer and I gave it too much fire and hot-boxed it a little. Burn issues, the full flavor profile and complexity I always enjoy with the T52 was ALMOST there, but not quite.
#9: Love the Beli. Love the Pig, too, but I really do think this blend shines in the Beli.
Viva La Liga Privada!
I had a T52 ($12) last night 12/28/10@ fair Oaks Cigar in South Pasadena, Ca.. I was sorely disappointed. I hope the No.9 has a lot more flavor. to me the T52 was a tease on the flavor, not so much on the spice though. I would not buy a box of the T52. Well once this back order gets filled on the No.9 I hope this one will show and prove
Where are you guys getting your Ligas from? Any websites you might suggest?
This is a great cigar. I actually like it better than the original.
I swear for the first quarter I tasted buttered popcorn.
DanO, if you’re looking for them Smoke Inn has them.

Thanks Again Walt!
Absolutely great smoke, just lit the pig! Great flavor, nice thick smoke burns slow and even. Will definitely be purchasing more of these smokes.
This cigar is deceptively powerful. It isn’t especially full-bodied or rich (though it has a solid amount of flavor), but its nicotine content is incredible. This thing gave me a buzz the likes of which I have not experienced since I smoked an Oliva V on an empty stomach.
