Really need to thank my boy @ChiefHava for sending me the Salomon by La Flor Dominicana. Hopefully @ChiefHava gets back from Panama soon so we can resume our perpetual trading. I was hesitant to smoke the Salomon. Most of Litto Gomez’s creations are known for their power and I’ve had some out of body experiences […]
Rocky Patel Ocean Club
Man, and you guys thought I reviewed too many Pete Johnson creations! How about the Rocky Patel kick I’ve been on? Up to bat this Memorial Day weekend is the Rocky Patel Ocean Club. Those of you who follow my exploits over at My Daily Cigar, you got a preview of the Ocean Club while […]
El Titan de Bronze Grand Reserve Cameroon
I’m a sucker for Cameroon wrapper cigars. Something about a Cameroon wrapper that calls me. Maybe it has to do with how delicate the wrapper is or the exotic flavors. My exposure to El Titan de Bronze is limited to one Redemption that I got during a box pass but while I was here in […]
Cuba Aliados Miami
I always hesitate doing these types of reviews. I never feel comfortable or confident recording a review based on just smoking a cigar one time. There are too many variables when it comes to reviewing cigars and I always try to give a manufacturer the benefit of the doubt and a fair chance to impress […]
NUB Coverage
Concluding our coverage of Cigar Fest 2009, here is some footage from the NUB booth. You can see Sam Leccia rolling a NUB Maduro including patching a wrapper, some fans presenting Sam with a wood carving and Sam rewarding them with a few NUB cigars that you can’t buy and carry his own personal label.
Esencia
Jerry and Brian are back with another episode of…well we’re working on a name but we’re back this time with a review of the Esencia:
Pre Cigar Fest
After an evening of pre Cigar Fest activities, Charlie, Chris, Dennis, Walt and myself went back to the hotel and filmed this entertaining piece of work:
5 Minutes with Jesus Fuego
Jesus Fuego takes 5 minutes out of his busy day at Cigar Fest 2009 to talk about his new Origen line and 777 blend he has coming out. Both cigars are featuring the first Brazilian Corojo wrapper on the market:
Quick Question with Alan Rubin (Alec Bradley Cigars)
After my review of the Trilogy Authentic Corojo by Alec Bradley, I was left with one question: Why the change in shape from its original triangle press to the standard round shape? During Cigar Fest 2009, I got my question answered by Alan Rubin:
Gurkha Warlord (Special Edition)
I guess “Special” isn’t always used in a positive light. I’m no expert on Gurkha cigars. In fact, I’m really not sure if I’ve smoked anything, ever, from Gurkha before this Warlord. But I do know a little bit about cigars and in all honesty, I found nothing special about this edition of the Gurkha […]
